Water Security & Justice Webinar Series: Water Scarcity Through the lens of Water Security

March 13, 2024, 16.00 - 17.00

Water Security & Justice Webinar Series: Water Scarcity Through the lens of Water Security

Chloé Nicolas-Artero's presentation explores the relationships between water security and water scarcity from a critical geography perspective. Her reflections are based on field investigations conducted in arid regions of the Global South where water-sharing issues are tense. How does the critical study of water security enhance our understanding of the social construction of water scarcity in rural areas of arid regions? She will address these questions by drawing on case studies from the Elqui Valley in Chile and the transboundary basin of El Kebir between Tunisia and Algeria.
